“mistaken Memories”
this story was conceived when i was reading an article on amnesia and its causes and effects. when i thought to myself, when a person loses all his memories of himself, he becomes a clean slate. Anyone can rewrite his memories and modify it however they want. this thought made me develop a story around it and here’s the story. I set this one in 70s since modern day communication is widespread, finding information about a person is very easy.
“Purely Coincidental”
the story revolves around a visit to a friend’s marriage and the truth behind the marriage is revealed to be an interesting twist between love and arranged marriage. this story was inspired from an real life marriage of a friend’s friend. the situation and the conversations were almost exact from the real incident except for translation from tamil to english.
this twist really intrigued me about the level of coincidence and luck, one could have in his/her life. Maybe there’s something truly called the “destiny”. this incident was one that made me move one step closer in believing about fate and destiny.
” Being Nice Sucks”
The story is based on the rants of a friend after a couple of drinks. he had quite a similar incidence at his work place and was feeling bad about the way his good deed was misinterpreted and gossiped about as a guy making advances on a girl although he was already in a committed relationship.
“Retirement”
The initial concept of the story was to tell the bond between a dad and his little girl with the background of the hot sporting action at that time ‘the IPL’. the dad- girl instance was inspired from a sighting of a cute little girl with her dad purchasing groceries for their home. the girl was so cute in dominating over her dad, asking him to get all the stuffs she wanted.Unfortunately, that story didn’t turn out as i expected.
“Turbulence”
A purely fictional Love story with background of a flight in turbulence, the situation for the story was inspired from a scene from the American Tv show “lost” in which a plane experiences a heavy turbulence before crashing down.
I used the turbulence as a situation for a guy to express his untold love for the girl of his life, ending in an awkward situation between the couple.
“Valentine’s day special”
As the title suggests, the story was a valentine’s day special published on the feb 14th. the story has glimpses of real life love incidences from my life, a couple of my friends and some imagination mixed in it.
